ProJeCt operates a handicapped accessible food pantry in Downtown Easton for residents of Northampton County. Individuals and families who qualify can receive a three-to-four day supply of fresh, quality food once each month.
The Food Pantry is located at 330 Ferry Street and is open:
Mondays 10:00am – 12:30pm
Thursdays 10:00am – 12:30pm and 1:00pm-3:30pm
Access to fresh, healthy food is essential for all people. ProJeCt’s Food Pantry is set up as the least restrictive Choice Model, in which clients are able to select their own items from our shelves. Clients are assisted by volunteers, as well as a registered nurse who provides nutrition consultation and education. ProJeCt believes education is key in all areas of our mission.
ProJeCt’s staff is committed to helping you identify opportunities to connect with other community resources as needed. Food Pantry clients are also able to take advantage of our Education Services as needed.
For seniors age 60+, we offer the Gold Card Program as part of the Food Pantry. The Gold Card Program provides assessment, case management and expanded nutritional interventions. It is staffed by a registered nurse, who assesses the client’s level of food insecurity, challenges in transporting grocery items, medical concerns impacting nutrition, and eligibility/linkages to benefit programs and local social services programs. The client is also offered free blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI) screenings.
