EVENTS

Events serve as excellent avenues to commemorate our achievements and advancements with the community collectively. ProJeCt organizes various gatherings yearly to celebrate with our students, community members, and beneficiaries, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared accomplishment. Our events include:

Daniel E. Cohen Award

ProJeCt of Easton’s highest recognition honor is the Daniel E. Cohen Award.  This recognizes an individual, couple, or organization that supports and promotes ProJeCt’s mission throughout the community and helps achieve the goals of the organization of “helping people help themselves” through the contributions of their time, talents, and treasures.

We proudly announced Barbara Diamant as the 2022 Daniel E. Cohen Award recipient:

Barbara Diamant, Bethlehem PA, received her BA and MA from Montclair State University and her Masters Level Certification in ESL from Moravian College (NKA Moravian University).  Her professional career began as a high school Latin and English teacher at Bridgewater High School in NJ.  After moving to Pennsylvania in 1978, she joined the Northampton Community College and Lehigh University faculties.  She has decades of service to community organizations.  She is a Trustee of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley and a 20-year member of Women United, a branch of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.  In 2012 Women United named Barbara the Philanthropist of the Year.  She has been the liaison between ProJeCt of Easton and Women United for several years and helped secure funding for several programs at ProJeCt.  She and her husband, a retiree from Victaulic, are the proud parents of two children and grandparents to three.

This award recipient is selected by the organization and approved by the Board of Directors.  The recipient is honored at a dinner.  If you or your organization would like to be part of this event through donations or sponsorships, please get in touch with the Development Office at 610-258-4361 x25 or email development@projecteaston.org.

Highmark Walk

June 1, 2024
DeSales University

The “Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community” is a family-friendly (pets included!) fun walk that benefits nonprofit health and human service agencies in the Lehigh Valley. We would be honored if you would support our mission by coming out and walking for ProJeCt!

As a walker, you or a team can fundraise for ProJeCt while improving your health and the community at the same time! Teams can promote their business to thousands of Lehigh Valley community members at this walk that benefits ProJeCt and 20 other local nonprofit health and human services agencies. Because of the unique cooperation with Highmark, every dollar that you provide goes directly to ProJeCt's programs. Those programs range from lifelong learning opportunities (family literacy, GED and ESL classes, life skills classes, and a summer reading program) to meeting basic needs through our food pantry and emergency assistance services.

Questions regarding the Walk or forming a team, contact the Development Office at 610-258-4361 ext. 25 or development@projecteaston.org

Congratulations to the 2023 Golden Sole Award recipients- Team Palmer Kiwanis!
