EVENTS

Events serve as excellent avenues to commemorate our achievements and advancements with the community collectively. ProJeCt organizes various gatherings yearly to celebrate with our students, community members, and beneficiaries, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared accomplishment. Our events include:

2019 Simply-Savory.jpeg

Simply Savory is a community event where local restaurants, caterers, bakeries, wineries, and breweries come together for an evening of delight! In addition, we will have some amazing prizes in our silent auction donated by various community members!

Your support helps ProJeCt to continue providing essential services to thousands of local families who benefit from supplemental food, emergency support, and homelessness prevention, as well as adult and family literacy programs that prepare them for success in work, school, and life. Our services – all free of charge - are needed now, more than ever, as so many have had their lives disrupted and destabilized by the pandemic, and others continue to face the challenges of poverty.

Simply Savory is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a night out while supporting ProJeCt of Easton's mission of "Helping People Help Themselves."

Daniel E. Cohen Award

ProJeCt of Easton’s highest recognition honor is the Daniel E. Cohen Award.  This recognizes an individual, couple, or organization that supports and promotes ProJeCt’s mission throughout the community and helps achieve the goals of the organization of “helping people help themselves” through the contributions of their time, talents, and treasures.

We proudly announced Barbara Diamant as the 2022 Daniel E. Cohen Award recipient:

Barbara Diamant, Bethlehem PA, received her BA and MA from Montclair State University and her Masters Level Certification in ESL from Moravian College (NKA Moravian University).  Her professional career began as a high school Latin and English teacher at Bridgewater High School in NJ.  After moving to Pennsylvania in 1978, she joined the Northampton Community College and Lehigh University faculties.  She has decades of service to community organizations.  She is a Trustee of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley and a 20-year member of Women United, a branch of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.  In 2012 Women United named Barbara the Philanthropist of the Year.  She has been the liaison between ProJeCt of Easton and Women United for several years and helped secure funding for several programs at ProJeCt.  She and her husband, a retiree from Victaulic, are the proud parents of two children and grandparents to three.

This award recipient is selected by the organization and approved by the Board of Directors.  The recipient is honored at a dinner.  If you or your organization would like to be part of this event through donations or sponsorships, please get in touch with the Development Office at 610-258-4361 x25 or email development@projecteaston.org.

The annual Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is a way for individuals, businesses, and organizations to gather together in a healthy activity while raising funds for their charity.  ProJeCt of Easton has been a participating organization for more than a decade, and the funds raised by our supporters go directly to support the programs and assistance we offer to clients.

Organizations, service clubs, families, and friends can form teams to compete for our Silver Sole Award annually to teams raising the most money for ProJeCt.  Individuals may also register to participate in the event.

If you want information regarding the Walk or forming a team, contact the Development Office at 610-258-4361 or development@projecteaston.org
